It’s finally here!
Under the hood, Mi A2 sports Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 660 (octa-core processor with 4×2.2GHz & 4×1.8GHz big.LITTLE kryo 260 cores setup). The GPU is Adreno 512 and the storage set up is either 4GB/32GB, 4GB/64GB or 6GB RAM with 128GB of internal memory. Is it expandable? No! Sadly it has the dual (micro) sim slot.
The Mi A2 sports a beautiful 5.99-inch 18:9 Full HD+ (1080×2160 px) LCD IPS display. It has Corning’s Gorilla Glass protection which is adequate for a budget phone like this.
Mi A2 comes with dual cameras to the back and a single front selfie-shooter to the front. The primary rear camera is a 12MP (Sony IMX486) sensor with an f/1.75 aperture and the other one is a 20MP sensor (Sony IMX376) with f/1.75 aperture. LED flash is to the middle of both camera that can help in low light photography. The primary rear camera can shoot HD videos up to 4K resolution (2160p).
The front camera is a 20MP (Sony IMX376) selfie-shooter with an f/2.2 aperture and can shoot video up to 1080p. It has special features like AI powered portrait mode and AI Beautify 4.0. There is a selfie flash present to assist in low light.
Mi A2 runs Android One version of Android Oreo 8.1. It has 3010mAh of battery and comes with a 5v2a charger. There is a dual band Wi-Fi chip and Bluetooth 5.0 present for the wireless connection business.
As for the price and availability, it is set to hit at least 40 markets as of now. France will be the luckiest to get it on July 27 being the first market. Italy and Spain will get it a bit late on August 8 and August 10, respectively. The price in Spain starts at €249 for the 4GB + 32GB and €279 for the 4GB + 64GB variant. And the 6GB/128GB model will have the price tag of €349.
There is currently no official statement on when is this model going to arrive in Indian market. The pricing for 4GB/32GB translates into ₹ 20K however we have seen Xiaomi being aggressive there so we really cannot guess the right price as of now.
